I want to share my journey of helping families affected by the recent California wildfires. When I learned that my dear friend Nitti Kaur lost her home in Altadena, I knew I had to act. I rallied my community in the San Francisco Bay Area to gather donations and quickly organized two trucks filled with supplies.
The outpouring of support was incredible. Local businesses stepped up, and we received everything from furniture to pet supplies. It was heartwarming to see so many people come together during such a difficult time. After delivering donations to Nitti, we still had a mountain of items left over, which led me to create the LA Fires Adopt a Family Facebook group. This platform connects donors directly with families in need, ensuring that contributions are meaningful.
While the road ahead for Nitti and many others is long and challenging, I am filled with hope. The kindness of our community has been a true blessing, reminding us that even in the darkest times, we can find light through compassion and support. If you’re looking to help, please consider joining our Facebook group—together, we can make a difference!
